Panama Golf Club faced a problem—due to the course’s heavy clay soils and limited drainage, it would often become unplayable during the wet seasons in the country. It was also struggling to lure new golfers, its practice facility was substandard, and the par three course wasn’t up to the quality of the facility. Raymond Hearn Golf Course Designs was brought in to develop a Master Plan for the course and ultimately enhance the quality of the club’s golf offering.
Raymond undertook a series of projects at this course, the site of a Korn Ferry Tour event, including improvements to greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, drainage, cart paths, practice facility and other needs. His work earned a Design Excellence Award from the American Society of Golf Course Architects.
